BIBLE ZONE

bibleMuch is said about schools and the difficulties speaking about Christianity within them.  Just to offer a different view point I would like to tell you about Bible Zone.

This is a weekly children’s group that meets at John Bramston Primary School.  It has the full backing of the Head Teacher and is blatantly Christian.

It is not one of the largest after school clubs that meets.  The numbers vary and at the moment we have about 15 children from Year 1 to Year 6.

Each session starts with milk and fruit.  During the session we share a bible insight – this year we have been working our way through the bible alphabetically, a craft activity, and finishing with a prayer.Noah's Ark and animals

The group has been running about four years and involves Ellen Hunt, myself and Mrs. Shearer – a teacher at the school.

One of the exciting developments this terms has been some of the Year 6’s leading the sessions.  A group of girls led a session on ‘Noah’ and a pair of boys on ‘Parables’.  Next week a group is planning to lead a session on the ‘Queen of Sheba’.

It may only be 45 minutes once a week but it is a light being shone in a different environment than church.

We ask that you continue to hold us up in prayer.
