EASTER CRAFT DAY -SATURDAY, 1ST APRIL, 2006

Kathryn's Group at the Easter Craft DayCharmaine and Joanna's Group at the Easter Craft DayFollowing the success of the Christmas Craft Day, we decided to do another, only this time it was called the Easter Craft Day! It was run on the same lines as the Christmas one, except the craft activities were Easter themed.

We had over 50 children apply and through God’s grace we didn't have to turn any of them away. I had set a limit of 50 and on Saturday 1st April a few turned up that hadn't booked and a couple who had booked were ill, so the numbers worked out.

Throughout the day, the children worked their way round 6 activities including painting, sewing, sticking and CHOCOLATE. We gave them a hot lunch, watched a video about the first Easter and finished with a Trudy and Carol's Group at the Easter Craft Dayparty. All of the children enjoyed themselves as did theAnnie's Group at the Easter Craft Day leaders. It's wonderful to talk to these kids throughout the day and hopefully get across God’s love for them and the message of the Gospel.

These craft days will I hope become an important part of our outreach work to the local community and it works nicely with the holiday club in the summer as it gives a continuity to what we do.

I want to thank once more all of the leaders who came on the day, the people who helped beforehand, the PCC for supporting me in this venture, Chris for allowing me to go ahead with the idea and of course God for giving me the idea and the confidence to carry it through.

Our next thing will of course be the Summer holiday club and then a Christmas Craft day in December. If you would like to be involved in any way then please speak to me, it would be great to have you alongside
