Holiday Club

The Holiday Club

Each year St. Paul's Church runs a holiday club during the first week of the school summer holidays for local children aged 5-11 years. (There is a separate club for young people aged 11-18).

The holiday club meets every day from Monday to Friday from 10.00 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. On Saturday morning there is a picnic in the Hainault Forest Country Park and a special holiday club service held in the church on the Sunday morning.

Each holiday club has a special theme and throughout the week there is a mixture of gospel teaching, craft activities, quizzes, games and a range of other fun events.

During July 2004, some 60 children joined the holiday club for the 5-11 age group and around 25 young people joined the club for 11-18 year olds. The theme was Follow the Yellow Brick Road with everyone joining in to produce a play based on the Yellow Brick Road theme especially adapted for St. Paul's Church. The children performed the play on Sunday 1st August at the 10.00 a.m. service and here are some pictures of that event.

The holiday club in 2005 was all about building bridges and again some 100 children joined in the fun. This time the older age group (11-18) had almost 40 young people and a great time was had by all.

Since then there has been a holiday club every summer and there have also been regular craft days during the year.

For detail of future holiday clubs, please contact the Vicar, Rev. Christopher Cant on Tel. 020 8500 3366.
