St Paul’s New Building Developments

Redevelopment Plans

The PCC and congregation are very aware of the huge needs of the community of Hainault as a whole and are actively engaged in exploring ways of reaching the people, both young and old by showing a duty of Christian care for them. There are already a number of activities in the church hall. These divide into those run under the church’s umbrella as outreach into the community and those groups for which the church acts as host.

However, it is strongly felt that so much more could be done by enhancing the buildings and making them even more available for community use. St Paul’s PCC have felt led over the past few years to develop the buildings, to this end, we have appointed a Building Development Officer.

In the approved plans, the existing church and hall will be greatly enhanced by creating a main common access entrance incorporating a reception area and lounge, additional meeting rooms, extra storage space, and a large kitchen area. The back of the lounge would also double as a stage for the natural grassed amphitheatre at the rear of the building.

The second stage is to re-orientate the church to provide one level access for all people to take communion. It will provide additional small meeting rooms above the chapel; a sound and projection control area in a newly built gallery facing into the church; a quiet room for ministry and new vestry facility for the incumbent.

Below is the overall plan of how the church and hall will look:
